About

I’m Rick, and Etherplex is the clearinghouse for my code and musings. I currently work as a software engineer in San Diego doing prototyping programming in Scala, Clojure and Java in the areas of genetic algorithms, simulation and distributed computing systems designed for scalability and usabilty in unreliable, low-bandwidth and dynamic environments.
Most content is related to functional programming in some kind of Lisp or Scala, and the musings vary widely, but usually include intellectual property issues or programming (and often Emacs). I’m always looking for interesting work in functional languages (Clojure and Scala).
